Videotaped Testimonials

Jen Sterling is the Chief Red Head at Red Thinking, a brand strategy company in Northern Virginia. We recently provided them with some videos of testimonials from their clients to use on their website. I interviewed Jen about Red Thinking and about her reasons for using video on the web.

Jessica: First of all, what is Red Thinking?
Red Thinking is a brand strategy and design firm. We work with passionate entrepreneurs and CEOs to get their companies to the next level. We do this through strategic positioning, messaging and creative execution of logos, websites and other collateral.

Jessica: What makes Red Thinking different?
We take our work seriously but we don’t take ourselves very seriously. We are a really fun group of people to work with. Most of us have been working together for at least 6 years… some as long as 10 or more.

Jessica: Why did you decide to have testimonials videotaped?
We have been telling our clients for years that video content is vital for their websites… and yet we never got around to doing our own. It really was about time.

Expanding Your Audience with Videotaped Interviews

For the past two years, Capture Video has been working with Cynthia de Lorenzi, of Success in the City, on videotaping their monthly CEO Chick Chat series. After taping each monthly interview, we post the videos to the Success in the City Youtube Channel.

Here’s a little information from the CEO herself, Cynthia de Lorenzi, on Success in the City and, specifically, their CEO Chick Chat series.

“CEO Chick Chat is like overhearing a conversation over coffee with a couple of good friends. The interviews are conducted with extraordinary women leaders who share their stories about their journey through life and on to the road of success and leadership.

It’s not just a discussion about overcoming obstacles and challenges, but explores on a more personal and dynamic level how each woman made the journey through childhood and into adulthood and discovered themselves and their own route to success along the way.

No two of our interviews subjects stories are the same and it is fascinating to discuss their family, their perceptions about life, success and opportunities, missed and realized. Our conversations reveal the luck, wisdom, good fortune, fortitude, risks, guts and determination to discover their own path to success.”

Here’s part one of the most recent interview with Terri Lee Freeman:

Cynthia continues to describe what makes the CEO Chick Chat so appealing.

We videotape a lot of different live events. We have videotaped everything from presentations, networking events, interviews, and training programs,to dance performances, sporting events and comedy.

We have recently been spending our Saturday nights videotaping storytelling. Full disclosure here, Jessica Piscitelli Robinson, CEO of Capture Video, runs a storytelling troupe. Add video to your website

We have been telling clients for years that it is important to have video on their website. A few years ago, Google changed to blended searches and made our jobs easier – because then Google started telling people it was important to have video on their website.

But with all the video work we were getting, it was hard to find time to work on our own website, and even on the videos for our website. But we did it. Finally. Not only do we have a shiny new logo, fresh faced website, and new and improved video clips, but we also have a blog, ready to be filled with lots of great information about Video for SEO, HD vs. standard definition, the production process, augmented reality, storyboards, green screens, live streaming and everything else that makes video production such a dynamic field to work in.

So come back and see us some time. We promise to make our blog broadcasts worth tuning in for.
